Encourage the Auld Alliance; practise your French!

Murrayfield Wanderers have close links with a French composite U15 side from Limousin region in the Correze valley.

The Composite side is made up from children from three villages in that area,Nave, Seilhac and Lagrauliere. The team, known as NSL, hold a six nations tournament every 3 years for U15 players.

The tournament in France will be in rugby season 2013-2014, i.e. next rugby season. Our current squad of players, playing at S1/2 level, will have the opportunity to take part in that tournament. NSL's tournament is held over a weekend usually around Easter.

There are 22 players and 31 adults coming; they are being hosted by club families, at least 2 platers per family. (Thanks to all concerned). Their itinerary is:

Friday 19th April: arrive at 4.00 pm at Edinburgh Airport.
Thay come to the club for 5pm; so all members, players, etc are asked to attend, to welcome them. The adults will be transported to the Ibis hotel in Hunters square.

Saturday 20 April: The French boys will be dropped off at the club at 10.00am. Then they visit the Museum in Chambers St. If time permits, the Castle will be visted, and there could be football and touch rugby for the boys and adults, back at the club.

Hopefully a senior team will be playing at at home; so the French will come and support us!

On Saturday evening the boys will depart with their hosts at 6.30pm, The adults will be staying for some traditional Scottish fare.

Sunday 21 April: Game at 1pm v MWFC. We aim to have 3 short matches, with a combined French a Scottish match to finish with. The Army mobile assault course will keep the players and some of the coaches entertained for at least a further hour!!

The French team will then lay on the food and no doubt drink for the Sunday. The last time they came over the had enough food and drink for around 100 people!

There will be presentations after the match and prizes for the best times on the assault course.

Monday: A tour of Murrayfield Stadium at around 11.00am, followed by lunch at the club. The party will make there way to the airport at around 1.30pm.

Please pop in and parle avec nos visiteurs.
