The Club was very sad to hear that Tommy Chambers died on 16th February, aged 91.

Tommy joined Edinburgh Wanderers FC from Musselburgh RFC and Cartha RFC and was renowned as a tenacious terrier of a scrum half. After retiring as a player in his very late 30s, Tommy served on the Wanderers Committee for many years and eventually became President in 1982-84. Tommy had been a Bank Manager at the Clydesdale Bank in Edinburgh and latterly in Dunfermline.

After the merger of Edinburgh Wanderers FC and Murrayfield RFC, Tommy continued to support the Club, attending both home and away games, as well as social events, including the Gentleman's Dining Club and 200 Club. Shortly before his wife Elsie died, they moved from their family home in Dunfermline to North Queensferry.

The Club's sympathies are extended to his daughter Clare and sons Nick and Pete.

The funeral will take place at the Dunfermline Crematorium, Masterton Road, KY11 8QR on Wednesday 26th February at 11.30am; thereafter at the nearby Garvock House Hotel, St John's Drive, KY12 7TU.
