SUMMER CAMP & RETURN TO TRAINING

SUMMER CAMP & RETURN TO TRAINING

Dear Parents & Members

We are delighted to announce that, unless there is an increase in the number of cases of the virus and a change in Government advice, we are planning to resume our mini section training on Sunday 16th August 2020 at Roseburn Park. Sessions will start at 12:00 noon.

In advance of resuming our mini rugby training session we will be running a Summer Camp the week before the schools return. The camps are open to all children, boys and girls, aged 5 to 16 years who have either played before or are interested in playing for the first time.

Thursday 6th August

Friday 7th August

When we return, all will be different! We will be strictly adhering to all Scottish Government policy and Scottish Rugby Union (SRU) ‘Return to Rugby for Clubs and Schools’ guidance.

We will have check in/out protocols, one-way systems, hand cleaning protocols, equipment cleaning arrangements and social distancing for all adults (coaches, volunteers and parents/carers). There will be limitations on numbers participating in various group activities and physical contact will be limited to ‘one handed touch’. These necessary procedures will ensure our camps and training sessions are in full compliance with the public health, hygiene and physical distancing requirements and best ensure the safety of all whist training.

We now have Tom Lawman as our Covid-19 Safety Coordinator. Tom is working with each section of the club completing risk assessments and finalising plans to make Roseburn Park and our clubrooms at the ice rink as safe as we can make them. In addition, all our coaches and volunteers will have completed the mandatory SRU ‘Covid-19 Return to Rugby’ safety training before we take to the field. It will take a big effort by all to ensure a safe return to rugby and we will be reaching out to you so that we can coordinate any support that you are able to offer.

I know you will all keen to have our young members back training, playing and having fun. We most certainly are, and we really look forward to seeing you all again soon.
