Congratulations to our Development Officer for being nominated again for an Active Schools award.

Murray Hastie - our Development Officer - has been nominated again for an award by Active Schools.

Murray, who is assisted by Nathan Smith, undertakes work within our cluster schools, using rugby as a basis for improving the life style of the pupils. Our cluster schools are Tynecastle and Wester Hailes High Schools, plus their feeder primary schools.

"Active Schools" is the banner used within the school network for coordinating and promoting sports and healthy living. The nomination of our Development team is a recognition of the appreciation from the schools of the extra mile that Murray and Nathan achieve and the positive impact that results.

From the club perspective, this has meant that WHEC/Tynecastle now regularly field teams playing against other schools: a great achievement in what is not a rugby-oriented catchment.

Their efforts are largely funded by the Murrayfield Wanderers Rugby Trust Foundation; so our thanks also extend to them for their fund-raising. Of course, if you believe you can help in their efforts please contact the club!!

Good luck, Murray!
