Graham played stand off for Edinburgh Wanderers 1st XV during the 1980s. He had been Executive Chairman of Speirs and Jeffrey and a non-executive Director of MacTaggart Scott; as well as as being a trustee for a number of charities both north and south of the border.

One of his uncles, Gordon Waddell, played fly-half for Scotland and the British Lions, whilst Gordon's father Herbert Waddell also played fly-half for Scotland and the British Lions, later becoming President of the SRU and Chairman of the Barbarians RFC.

Past members of Edinburgh Wanderers and the Murrayfield Wanderers Football Club extend their condolences to Graham's family and friends.

Graham Waddell’s funeral service will be at 12noon on Wednesday 13th December at St Cuthbert’s Church, Princes Street, Edinburgh.
